Become a Christian

How to become a Christian and how to get to Heaven:

AssuranceSalvation_01

  • 1. Admit you are a sinner. See Romans 3:10
  • 2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent). See Acts 17:30
  • 3. Believe that Jesus died for you, was buried and rose from the dead. See Romans 10:9-10
  • 4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior. See Romans 10:13

What to Pray:

Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness.
I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin.
I am willing to turn from sin.
I now invite Christ into my heart and life as my personal Savior.

Christian Testimony #1:

I am currently a member of Victory Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in McDonough, GA.

As a child of about 12 years of age, I made a verbal profession of faith in Christ, meaning I stated that I believed that Jesus Christ died on a cross for my sins and rose from the dead. As I got older, I began to realize that other people had different beliefs and sometimes no belief in God at all.

After I was married and became a mother, I began to read from the beginning, the New Testament, that was left at my apartment door by someone. As I got further into the Book of Matthew, I asked myself “why do these people hate Jesus enough to push him off of a cliff?”. I just couldn’t understand why someone could hate a person who was just doing good to everybody. So… I realized that in order to understand why the priests and the religious people hated Jesus, I’d have to go back to the Old Testament and read it from the beginning and then I’d have a better understanding of why people hated Jesus.

When I finished the Old Testament, I began to read the New Testament again and I began to hate Jesus. I shut the Bible and said to myself ” I can’t stand this man, how can I hate someone who is only doing good?” AT THIS POINT THE FIRST QUESTION THAT I ASKED MYSELF YEARS AGO (” why do these people hate Jesus enough to push Him off a cliff”?) CAME BACK TO MY MEMORY AND THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS THE FIRST TIME THAT I BELIEVE JESUS SPOKE TO MY HEART AND HE SAID, “You are only reading about Me and you hate Me. How do you think those men felt about Me when I was walking among them? I want you to know that I died for those men because I loved those men and I died for you”.

After hearing these words in my heart, I said to myself, “I must be a really horrible person to hate someone who’s only doing good”. I realized that I hated Jesus because I could never be as good as Him, so I was jealous of Him and all of the things He did. Finally I said to myself, “I have to get to this man (Jesus)”. I found the book “Steps to Christ” in one of my bedroom drawers, read it and did what it said even though I still had questions about who this God was that I was about to follow.

Step 1. I Confessed to God, if He was really up there, that I was a sinner and I actually confessed my sins one by one as many I could remember.

Step 2. I Repented of my sins by telling God, if he was really up there, that I was truly sorry for all of my sins.

Step 3. I asked God to forgive my sins and told Him that I believed that Jesus died on a cross for my sins and was buried and rose from the dead.

Step 4. I said, “Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and into my life”.

Step 5. I said, “thank You, Lord Jesus for coming into my life and into my heart.

Finally I added the statement, “Lord Jesus if you are really up there and You come into my heart, and You guide me (not men, but You) and You lead me, and You teach me, I will follow You until I drop dead”.

From that time until now ( about 40 years) I have never been the same or alone. I actually felt the HOLY SPIRIT come onto my skin and to this day, perceived Him in this body that I continue to share with Him.

I praise God for the honor of sharing this, my testimony, with you and I give God the glory that He has given me the task of inviting you to Him also.

Why wait any longer?
It really is that easy.
Just confess your sins.
Repent of your sins.
Ask God to forgive you for your sins.
Believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, was buried and rose from the dead.
Ask Jesus to come into your heart and into your life.
Thank Jesus for coming into your heart and into your life.

If you did all of those things mentioned above and meant those words with all of your heart, welcome into the family of our God, my brother or sister, through His son Jesus Christ who died for you and loves you.

God bless you always!
